YOUNG ADULT Partner Loss.
What is it?
Young Adult Partner Loss is a peer-to-peer support meeting and non-judgemental space for anyone between the age of 18-40 who is grieving the death of a partner. It is a place to come together with others who understand, and who recognise the particular nuances of navigating partner loss at a young age.
TNN recognises that support for bereaved partners has not always been accessible to all. This space has been created to offer an inclusive, understanding, and age-specific community for young adults who have experienced this profound loss.
Anyone who has experienced the death of a partner and is between the ages of 18-40 is welcome, regardless of marital status, length of relationship, sexual orientation, gender identity, heritage, religion, with or without children, current relationship status, complex relationship, etc.
Young Adult Partner Loss is a collaborative meeting space with Grief Ground, a community for those navigating partner loss in their 20s and 30s.

A collaborative meeting with Grief Ground.
Why did it start?
Young Adult Partner Loss, launched in 2025, was created to give voice, space and community for those who have experienced the death of a partner before the age of 40yrs.
Most people who are bereaved of a partner at a young age do not know anyone else in the same position. TNN and Grief Ground came together to provide this space collaboratively, acknowledging the isolation and lack of understanding that this experience can bring.
It allows attendees to navigate this ‘new normal’ through community, connection and belonging with others who really ‘get’ it.
The meeting was created by those who have themselves experienced the death of a partner before the age of 40yrs, and it continues to be run and hosted this way.
“Throughout Max’s illness and after he died, I often felt isolated because no one my age was living the life we were.
Meeting people who understood changed everything. Finding spaces where I could speak openly about my grief reminded me how healing it is to feel truly seen and supported.
I hope this group can offer that same comfort, connection, and understanding to others navigating young partner loss.”
- Jess, founding Host of Young Adult Partner Loss
What to expect?
The meetings were created to give space to openly discuss experiences of grief in an empathetic environment, in the knowledge that they are shared with others who can relate.
